A Day in the Life at Cheyenne International

Walk a mile in someone else’s shoes and you’ll understand who they are. We invite you to take a look at a day in the life of a Cheyenne employee. Sure we get a lot done, but we’re also normal people just like you who try to have a little fun along the way.

7AM: Up and at ‘em. Our days start early and we love the fresh smell of tobacco in the morning. Whether it be working on the production floor, checking product quality or chatting with our favorite customers on the phone or at their offices, we’re always eager to see what the day has in store.

8AM: The business is buzzing. By 8am each day, orders are flowing in, we’re making product, scheduling shipments, and hitting the streets to talk to our wholesale and retail customers. Coffee is usually involved here, don’t be fooled by our enthusiasm, we’re not all morning people.

10AM: This is prime time for brainstorming meetings at Cheyenne and if you’re lucky, you may get a savory treat in the process. Our sales, marketing, finance and production teams get together often to discuss new ideas, ways to improve our processes and things we can do to serve the customer more efficiently.

12PM: Lunch has arrived and we step out for some local southern favorites like BBQ from the legendary place right down the road or the best Mexican dishes you’ll have this side of the border. There is one thing that Cheyenne employees learn early on: we eat good! Trust us, our Plant Manager is a pro on the grill and cooks up steaks or chicken every quarter at our employee appreciation lunches.

3PM: No afternoon slumps here, we have too many exciting things happening. You can usually find a flurry of forklifts about or our compliance team discussing a recent legislative proposal. While the sales team is still out pounding the pavement to see their favorite accounts, our CEO is strategizing about plans for the next year.

5PM: While the proverbial whistle blows at 5pm, it doesn’t necessarily mean that our day ends. The management team at Cheyenne is always thinking about ways to improve and grow. Key employees are constantly taking everyday interactions in their personal life and finding positives that could potentially apply to the business. With that said, one thing is for sure, a good playlist is always set for the commute home.
