Cheyenne Celebrates 20 Years in Business

2022 marks 20 years in business for Cheyenne International and as such, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate where we’ve been, while also touching on where we’re headed. It would be wrong for us not to recognize that we wouldn’t be where we are today without our incredible employees, vendors and customers. They are the lifeblood of our company and we’ve achieved great success together through hard work, thoughtful strategy, strong communication and meticulous execution. With many opportunities in front of us, we plan to seize each one, together – as a united team. We have always been under the impression that success for one, is success for all.

Cheyenne sprouted its roots in 2002 as a scrappy little tobacco manufacturer located in the rural town of Grover, North Carolina. Setting up shop in an area with a population of a little over 700, Cheyenne ownership knew starting an entrepreneurial company in a small town would be no small feat. Not to mention, the challenges and obstacles already associated with going into the tobacco business that would add even more risk to the emerging start-up. Fortunately, spirit outweighed doubt and the industry made way for the little guy who went from just surviving to thriving.

From the start, Cheyenne has made a commitment to provide careers to surrounding area residents and has done everything in its power to offer jobs with above-average benefits so that employees could provide for their families and live comfortably. We’ve honored this commitment and continue to provide excellent benefits to the dedicated employees who care about the quality of the products they create. Our employees are an essential part of our success and why our doors have remained open for the past 20 years. We couldn’t build a profitable company without first building our employee “family.”

In order to stay afloat in the tobacco business, Cheyenne has always recognized that that we needed to offer a different customer experience that sets us apart from the big tobacco companies. Offering quality products at good prices is simply not enough. We strive to provide more to our customers, which is why listening and respecting our customers perspective and the issues they are facing is held with the utmost  importance. We aim to work with our partners to better understand their individual problems so we can help respond in a manner that creates long-lasting success for all. As the regulatory environment within the tobacco industry continues to become increasingly complex, it is also important that compliance remains at the heart of everything we do. Cheyenne plays a very active role in cooperating with local, state and federal legislators to foster a positive, fact-based relationship with governmental agencies in order to provide a high level of representation for our business customers. With our strict regulatory compliance and government interface effort, our customer partners have always been able to derive assurance and trust in the products we offer.

Through the years, the collective efforts of each of our stakeholders, employees, vendors and customers have propelled Cheyenne International in reaching our 20-year milestone. We’ve gone from no sales to anyone, anywhere, to now selling across the United States and internationally. We’ve established an excellent reputation within our industry and our small start-up business has transformed into a widely-recognized leader in the tobacco, distribution, grocery, dollar store, tobacco outlet and convenience industries. Our products speak for themselves which is why we’ve successfully been able to transition into a full line tobacco company. From filtered cigars, cigarettes, pipe tobacco and smokeless, each product line we’ve introduced has been highly reviewed and something we can strongly stand behind delivering to the market. The mission to provide our customers with innovative products that fulfill adult consumer demand and return attractive profits has helped us stay in business for the past 20 years and will continue to do so in the many years to come.
